Blobmoji

An open-licence emoji artwork set

Blobmoji, maintained by GitHub user C1710, revives Google's original rounded “blob” emoji design after Noto Emoji replaced it with a flatter style in 2017. It is a community fork built on Noto Emoji's own pipeline, not an official Google project.

Pick Emoji bundles Blobmoji and serves it from this origin. Every emoji page carries an “Across artwork sets” section putting this set beside the other four for that emoji, so the place to see what Blobmoji does with any given character is the character's own page. The repository linked below is the set itself, and Licenses carries the attribution every one of these sets requires.

2616 of 3963 emoji (66%) Blobmoji is a smaller, community-maintained fork of a font design Google itself retired in 2017, and its gap is concentrated in the same combinatorial "people" subgroups across every era of the standard since: activities, professions, sports, fantasy characters and hand gestures, each multiplied by skin tone and gender. It has not kept pace with how much those subgroups have grown. This is a genuine gap in the set itself, not a lookup failure on this site's part.
