No accounts, no tracking, no third-party requests
Pick Emoji is a static site: every page is generated in advance and served as plain files. There is no server-side application behind it, no database, and nothing that could hold an account or a session. That shapes everything else on this page.
No accounts, no tracking cookies, no analytics
There is no sign-up, no login, and no account of any kind -- there is nothing to create one in. Pick Emoji sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics or telemetry script, so nothing on this site records which pages you visit, how long you stay, or where you came from.
No third-party requests at runtime
Every stylesheet, script and font a page loads is served from Pick Emoji's own origin. Loading a page here does not cause your browser to fetch anything from Google, a font CDN, an analytics provider, or any other outside service. The only outside requests that happen at all are ones you make yourself, on purpose, by following a link off the site -- for instance to a licence or a source repository on the Licenses page.
Three things stored in your browser, and nothing else
Three conveniences remember themselves using your browser's local storage: the skin tone you pick in the menu, the emoji you collect in the copy tray, and your best streak in each game. Each is written to your browser only -- it is never sent to Pick Emoji or to anyone else, it never leaves your device, and it is not a cookie (it is not attached to any network request). Clearing your browser's site data for pickemoji.com removes all three. Nothing else is stored.
Copying an emoji
The copy button on an emoji's page uses your browser's own clipboard, the same mechanism as any other "copy" button on the web. The emoji character is written directly to your clipboard by your browser; it does not pass through Pick Emoji's servers, because there is no server involved once the page has loaded.
