Unicode files every emoji into one of nine groups, which is a good way to store them and a poor way to find the eight you need for a birthday message. These are this site's own sets, each one a rule over the keywords and subgroups in the data rather than a hand-typed list — open any of them and the rule is printed under the heading.
Each set counts distinct characters. Where a rule also matches skin-tone variants they are folded into the character they vary, which has its own page and its own tone strip — so a count here is a count of different things, not of codepoints.
